Essaouira day trip from Marrakech

Morocco Trip Travel will take you to explore this wonderful city. Essaouira bright and breezy, on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, is an enchanting, laid-back alternative to the frenetic melting-pot of Marrakesh. It is a city of art, music and cinema, strong trade winds make it one of the world’s great surf spots, and it has enjoyed a healthy tourist trade since the 1960s, when hippie icons like Jimi Hendrix and Cat Stevens made high-profile visits here. Despite this, Essaouira remains peaceful, quaint, and slow-paced. It’s one of Morocco’s most laid-back, unassuming destinations, and we can only assume that’s because it’s so quietly confident it doesn’t need to steal the limelight.Come and discover with us its exotic influences and western inspirations. Theold city walls are quite the sight, and encompass the city. It’s where the medina meets the Atlantic, and the bronze canons hold as hosts to explain the city’s fortification, so grand they were used in the filming of Game of Thrones.Discover the bustling fish market, artist’s workshop, mingle with locals and get a taste of a daily life. In addition to that, Essaouira is Gnawa’s music cradle in Morocco,Gnawa is the music of formerly enslaved Sub Saharen Africans who integrated into the Moroccan cultural and social landscape, and founded a model to preserve the traditions and folkloric music of their ancestors.Rising to prominence from a marginalised practice to heal people possessed by genie spirits, it is one of the most popular styles of North African music. It has not only attracted fans worldwide, but also interested famous European and American musicians such as Randy Weston, Bill Laswell and Robert Plant. Last but not least, Essaouira produces the best of Argan oil in the World,The argan trees around Essaouira are frequently adorned with goats, which climb up into the tops of the trees and nibble the fruit from between the armoured branches. It makes for one of the most memorable rural scenes to be found anywhere!
